Oh, dear. Stanton’s shot left his bat at 113.2 mph, according to HitTracker, and traveled 470 feet. It was the sixth longest homer of the season. Stanton is responsible for three of the 10 longest homers of 2014. No one else has more than one in the Top 10.

Giancarlo Stanton is probably from the future.
Seriously, though: Usually Stanton’s extraordinary athleticism doesn’t often come with his level of baseball skills. He has almost certainly been sent back in time. And while it’s hard to figure his ultimate mission in the year 2014 beyond providing awesome baseball entertainment, it seems safe to bet it has something to do with the Marlins’ other home-run structure.
